JVC GZ-HD7 HD Everio Camcorder From JVC
JVC unveiled their new Everio hard drive camcorder, the JVC HD Everio GZ-HD7. The camcorder also has the distinction of being the ” World’s First Full HD 1920×1080i Consumer Camcorder” and provides full HD 1920×1080i video quality. One also can bid goodbye to removable tapes or discs as one can directly record on the camcorders hard drive.

The JVC GZ-HD7 HD Everio is outfitted with a 60GB built-in hard drive and is capable of five hours of full HD 1920×1080i recording at a high 30Mbps(MAX) Mbps. For the ultimate performance, JVC has added three CCDs, one each for red, green and blue and a Fujinon lens. Other nifty features include; optical image stabilization, manual controls, multiple digital connections, bundled editing and archiving software etc.
The JVC GZ-HD7 Camcorder also includes a long seven hour SP mode with a resolution of 1440×1080i, and a 1440CBR mode with a resolution of 1440×1080i and a five-hour capacity. One can also archive their recordings on Blu-ray discs using provided software and a high definition Blu-ray recorder. The camcorder is also equipped Fujinon’s 10x optical zoom lens and has a f=3.3mm~33mm zoom range . The lens is also coated with a new Electronic Beam Coating (EBC) which helps reducing degradation caused by light reflecting off the lens surfaces.
Manual controls include; manual focus ring, manual white balance, exposure control, shutter priority mode, aperture priority mode and sharpness control. There is also what JVC calls a Zebra function, which displays a striped pattern across highlight areas on the image in the LCD monitor, making it easier to manually set the exposure. Also included is a mic input for connecting an external microphone.
Some other features found on the HD Everio GZ-HD7 include;three digital interfaces — USB, HDMI and i.LINK, Cyberlink BD Solution software suite for Windows and applications like;Power-director for HD video editing, Power-producer for authoring high definition Blu-ray discs and DVD- Video discs, and Power Cinema for HD file management and playback.
